Terms of Service

PekoEmbed renders rich URL previews inside Discord channels for sites that are otherwise poorly previewed by Discord itself, and provides a web dashboard for server administrators to configure which sites are enabled and how previews are delivered. The service is provided “as-is” with no uptime guarantee unless a paid plan explicitly says otherwise.

You must (a) have a Discord account in good standing, (b) be at least 13 years old (or the higher minimum age required where you live), and (c) have authority from the server owner to add or configure the bot on any server you administer here.

• Comply with Discord’s Terms of Service and Community Guidelines wherever you use the service.
• Keep your Discord account secure. You are responsible for everything that happens under your authenticated session.
• Respect the third-party sites whose URLs you preview — their terms govern the content the bot fetches and displays.
• Tell your server members that the bot will fetch and display URL content from the channels it monitors.

• Using the service to harass, defame, dox, or distribute unauthorised content.
• Reverse-engineering, scraping at abusive rates, bypassing quotas, or otherwise attempting to overwhelm the service.
• Submitting credentials (API keys, tokens, passwords) belonging to anyone other than yourself or the organisation you represent.
• Using the service to preview content that violates intellectual-property, privacy, or other applicable laws.
• Any use that violates Discord’s Terms of Service.

If you supply your own OpenAI / Anthropic / Google Gemini API keys for translation features, you remain solely responsible for the cost, rate limits, and content terms of those providers. We store your keys encrypted and use them only on your behalf, but we are not responsible for charges incurred under your providers’ pricing or for any breach of their terms by the requests you authorise.

PekoEmbed lets server administrators configure preview-access policies that limit which channels (including individual threads) or users may trigger URL previews. When a message does not meet the active policy, PekoEmbed silently drops the preview — it does not reply, log to the user, or surface an error to the message author. Server administrators are solely responsible for the policies they configure. PekoEmbed disclaims liability for any silent drops caused by administrator configuration.

The service’s software, design, name, and logo are owned by the PekoEmbed team. Content you post in your Discord servers remains yours; we make no claim over messages the bot previews. Open-source components are licensed under their respective licences.

Paid plans, when launched, will be billed in advance on a subscription basis through Stripe. Specific pricing, billing cycle, free-trial behaviour, and refund policy will be disclosed at the point of purchase. You may cancel at any time from the dashboard; cancellation stops the next renewal and does not refund the current billing period unless otherwise stated.

The service is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. We disclaim, to the maximum extent permitted by law, all warranties — whether express, implied, statutory, or otherwise — including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, and any warranty arising out of course of dealing or usage of trade. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any defects will be corrected.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, in no event will we be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, data, goodwill, or business opportunities arising out of or relating to the service, whether based on contract, tort (including negligence), strict liability, or any other theory, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages. Our aggregate liability for any claim relating to the service will not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you have paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim, or (b) USD 50.

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless the PekoEmbed team from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or relating to your use of the service, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any third party’s rights.

You may stop using the service at any time by removing the bot from your servers and signing out of the dashboard. We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these Terms, abuse the service, or if continued operation would expose us to legal risk. We will, where reasonable, give notice before terminating. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability, indemnification, governing law) survive.

We may update these Terms as the service evolves. Material changes will be announced on the dashboard at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use of the service after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of China (Taiwan), without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Disputes will be brought exclusively before the Taiwan Taipei District Court, except where the law of your country of residence grants you an inalienable right to bring an action in your local courts.
